History

In 1972 Midwest Challenge, Inc. (now called Life Rebuilders) was started by a Minneapolis police officer and the Mayor of Minneapolis. They saw first-hand the horrible impact human trafficking, the emergence of gang violence and increased drug and alcohol use was having on the Twin Cities.

They knew there was a better way to break the shackles of addiction which lead to bondage and the cycle of imprisonment. Thus, Midwest Challenge was born.

Through the decades the mission has branched out and the name has changed. However the core desire to offer the opportunity for men and women from all walks of life to find a safe place to renew their spirit, emotional and physical strength as well as get their lives going on a path of transformation…still remains.
